Creating a Trotte account is so easy, you only require to enter a valid email address and phone number. You'll also need to create a password and agree to terms and conditions and our privacy statement.

Fill in your first and last name, phone number, and preferred language. Once you complete this part of the signup process, we send a text SMS with a verification code for you to verify your phone number.

You can download and install the Trotte rider app on devices with iOS 9 or newer. Using your mobile device, tap the App Store icon and follow these steps:

 1. Select Search from the menu, type Trotte in the search bar, then tap Search.
2. Select the Trotte logo icon.
3. Tap GET. Your device may require you to enter your App Store password.

Trotte doesn't limit the distance you can travel on a trip, trips can only be made on the countries that Trotte is operating on.

If you wish to contact your driver about a pickup location or talk about other details of the ride you requested, you can do that through the app.

To contact your driver:
1. Tap the call icon that is displayed after the driver accepts the request
2. You will be asked if you want to make the call, tap "Call"

Note that drivers may not answer their phones or reply to a text message while driving.

You can cancel a trip in the Trotte app before or after you're matched with a driver.

When you sign up with Trotte you get a personal profile, but you can still take rides with a corporate profile within your account. Each profile has a default email and payment method that you or the account admin will manage.

When you take a trip with a profile, the fare will automatically be charged to that profile's default payment method. The trip receipt will be sent to the profile's default email address.

Additional charges may apply to your trip, including surge charges, or other fees. These charges are automatically added to your trip fare.

In most cities, surge charges reflect an estimate. This is due to fluctuations in the amount actually paid. You may also pay an additional charge to your driver for other costs or inconveniences, such as a parking fee to enter a venue or a long return trip after arrival at your final destination.

Once you've your pick up location for your trip, the app may recommend a nearby "Pickup spot" or multiple "Quick pickup" points. These suggested locations are meant to make pickups easier and faster for riders and drivers.

To use a suggested "Pickup spot" or "Quick pickup" point, tap "CONFIRM PICKUP" to be matched with a driver.

When you request a ride, your app sends your request to nearby drivers. After you're matched with a driver, your app shares info about the vehicle and driver headed to your pickup location.

In some locations, a per-minute wait time fee will begin in 5 minutes after your driver arrives at your location. When the charges have begun it will continue until your driver begins the trip.

Wait time fees and thresholds vary by location. Use the price estimator below to see if they exist in your city.
Ratings allow us to ensure a great experience for both riders and drivers, and we take ratings very seriously. Drivers with low ratings may lose access to the Trotte platform.

At the end of each trip, you'll be asked to rate your driver from 1 to 5 stars. You can provide specific feedback about the trip or your driver from a list of common issues.

Certain issues like trip price, app issues are not your driver's fault, so won't count toward your driver's overall rating.

If you received a text message saying you have a ride with Trotte on the way, someone may have scheduled a ride on your behalf. Follow the instructions in the text message and view your pickup details.
When a lot of people in the same area are requesting rides at the same time, trip prices might be higher than normal. This change in price helps to attract more drivers to an area so everyone can get a ride.

If you're requesting a ride during a busy time, you'll see a message in your app to let you know.

You can wait a few minutes while more drivers get on the road, or you can pay a little extra to get a ride when you need it.
Depending on the city where you ride with Trotte, trip fares may be calculated estimate or immediately after rides end. Here's how these two types of fares work.

Estimated Fares
With upfront pricing, you know the exact cost of your trip before requesting. This fare includes (but is not limited to):
-A base rate
-Rates for estimated time and distance of the route

The Trotte app does not include a tip when billing you for a trip fare.

In most cities, Trotte is a cashless experience. Tipping is voluntary. Tips are not included in the fare, nor are they expected or required.

As a rider, you are not obligated to offer your driver a gratuity in cash. If you decide you would like to tip, your driver is welcome to accept.
When a trip ends, we automatically send a receipt to the email address on your Trotte account. If you aren't receiving receipts, check the spam or junk folder of this email address. You can review your email address by selecting "profile" from your app menu. Tap your email address to update it.

Your Trotte account includes a trip history of every ride you've taken. To review:
